The iconic actor, 63, who plays an Oompa-Loompa in the Wonka movie, appeared at the film’s premiere on Tuesday night with his wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein, 40
He added: ‘I haven’t seen it. I’ve never been to a premiere of a film I’ve been in where I’ve never actually seen it before. I think it’s a first.
‘I live here so it’s not that exciting to be in London but I love this film, I love the people who made this film. I made Paddington 2 with them.
‘There’s no one I hate, which is very rare, cast, crew, producers, maybe a couple of executives I don’t like much. But otherwise they are a lovely bunch.’
Hugh looked extremely dapper in a black tuxedo as he joined his wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein, 40, on the red carpet.
He donned a white shirt to complete his look and posed alongside his television producer wife Anna.
Anna cut a glamorous figure in a white mini dress with a textured pattern and stood arm-in-arm with her famous husband on the red carpet.

The decision to cast Grant was criticised by an actor with dwarfism, who argued the part should have been offered to an actor with the condition as there is a lack of appropriate roles for dwarfs.
The Oompa-Loompas were played by actors with dwarfism in two previous films based on Roald Dahl’s iconic children’s book.
George Coppen – a 3ft 10in actor whose father played an Ewok in Star Wars – told The BBC: ‘A lot of actors [with dwarfism] feel like we are being pushed out of the industry we love,’ he said.
‘A lot of people, myself included, argue that dwarfs should be offered everyday roles in dramas and soaps, but we aren’t getting offered those roles.
‘One door is being closed but they have forgotten to open the next one.’
In Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, the Oompa Loompas are the small workers in the factory that Wonka imported from Loompaland.
The new Wonka film tells the story of the chocolatier before he opens his chocolate factory.
It is slated to officially release in the UK on December 8 just in time for Christmas.

The film is based on Roald Dahl’s classic 1964 novel titled Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and has been directed by Paul King, who previously helmed Paddington and its sequel.
The premise follows: ‘The wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today,’ per an official IMDB synopsis.
Hugh also shares two children with Tinglan Hong.
Back in January 2018, the blue-eyed heartthrob spoke to People TV’s Jess Cagle about becoming a father.
He said: ‘It was the nicest thing that’s ever happened to me. It’s just lovely to have all that love around.
‘Suddenly you love someone more than yourself. It’s unheard of in my case and they love you and it’s all enchanting.’
And speaking to Ellen DeGeneres in 2012, he also said: ‘Everyone was right all these years, saying, ‘Hugh, why don’t you have some children? It changes your life!”
‘Now that I have a child, it is life-changing. I recommend it. Get some!’
Wonka will be released in the UK on December 8, and the US on December 15.
