The woman who was struck by a microphone that 50 Cent hurled into a crowd is now filing a civil lawsuit against him.
During an early-August concert at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, the rapper (born Curtis James Jackson III), 48, hurled his non-working microphone into the crowd.
The microphone struck L.A. DJ Bryhana Monegain, who DJ’s for Power 106, and she was hospitalized following the incident on August 3, during his Final Lap tour.
While the rapper was cleared of any criminal involvement for the mic toss back in November, TMZ reports that Monegain’s lawsuit alleges she has permanent injuries.
The lawsuit alleges that once the In Da Club hitmaker realized his microphone wasn’t working, he opted to throw it into the crowd.

The hurled mic ultimately struck Monegain in the face and wrist, causing a concussion, a forehead laceration and other minor injuries.
While Monegain has since returned to work on her afternoon DJ slot on Power 106, she claims to still suffer emotional distress over the incident.
Monegain is suing for lost wages during her recovery along with medical expenses and other unspecified damages.
Shortly after the incident, Monegain filed a police report, with 50 Cent being investigated on battery charges.
50 Cent’s attorney, Scott Leemon, told DailyMail.com in late August, ‘Let’s be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone.’
‘Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed,’ he added.
Just weeks before the 50 Cent incident, Cardi B made headlines for throwing a microphone at a fan during a Las Vegas concert, who threw a drink at her.
The microphone ultimately hit another person nearby, and while the struck fan pressed charges, the rapper was ultimately cleared.

It was reported in November that he was cleared of all criminal charges, with the police presenting the case as a felony.
The Los Angeles District Attorney, though, shifted the case to the L.A. City Attorney’s office, who announced no charges will be filed, with some caveats.
The case will remain open for one year from the date of the incident (August 3) and it may be re-evaluated for possible criminal charges if there are any further incidents between the rapper and DJ.
He has yet to comment publicly on the lawsuit at this time.
