They are Australia’s answer to the Golden Globes.
And on Saturday, The Australian Academy of Cinema Arts revealed its full list of nominees for the 2024 AACTA Awards.
In the television category, ABC’s popular drama The Newsreader led the field with an astounding 15 nominations.
These include Best Drama Series and acting nominations for stellar performances by Sam Reid and Anna Torv.
It is followed closely by Amazon’s The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, which received 12 nominations.

Colin From Accounts and Deadloch, both secured ten nominations each, including Best Narrative Comedy Series.
Nominees for the Best Narrative Comedy Series also include Fisk, Gold Diggers, Upright, and Utopia.
Meanwhile, Patrick Brammall, Harriet Dyer, Helen Thomson, Kate Box, Nina Oyama, Kitty Flanagan, Julia Zemiro, and Celeste Barber have been nominated for the newly introduced award for Best Acting in a Comedy.
Nominees for the Award for Best Film include Of An Age, Shayda, Sweet As, Talk to Me, The New Boy, The Royal Hotel.

Dancing With The Stars, Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Lego Masters: Grand Masters, Mastermind, The 1% Club and The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition will all compete for the AACTA Award for Best Entertainment Programs.
AACTA Award for Best Children’s Program nominations include Barrumbi Kids, Beep and Mort, Bluey, Crazy Fun Park, The PM’s Daughter and Turn Up The Volume.
The 2024 AACTA Awards will be presented on 8 February 2024.
