She’s the Australian born teen pop singer who will compete in the Eurovision finals in Sweden this weekend.
And now 17-year-old Sydneysider Silia Kapsis has revealed that she faced criticism from ‘experts’ who threw shade on her chances because was ‘too young’.
But the little known dark-haired beauty, who is representing Cyprus in the song contest, said there was no chance she was going to get ‘stage fright’.
‘I’ve been doing this since I was four years old,’ Silia said in an interview with The Advertiser on Saturday.
‘It’s in me, I’ve got it, I’m in control. They’re now realising I’m a professional,’ she continued.

Silia added that people who criticised her have come around and now congratulate the teen on her success at such a young age.
‘But at the start, people were saying they thought I might be inexperienced, that because I am young, I might have stage fright, whatever,’ she said.
The singer and songwriter also revealed that it was acclaimed Greek composer Dimitris Kontopoulos who spotted her on Instagram and groomed her for Eurovision stardom.
He also co-write her powerhouse tune Liar for the competition.

‘He reached out to my mum, because we go to Greece often, and said there was a chance I could represent a country at Eurovision and we were like ”wow”,’ she said.
‘So we went back there and recorded the song and mum and me, we were 50/50 about the chances but we really had no clue.’
In a twist, Silia had originally hoped to represent Greece.
The pint-sized songstress, who was born and raised in Sydney has roots in both Cypriot and Greek heritage.
Her musical career kicked off with her debut song, ‘Who Am I?’ released when she was just 12 years old.
Since then, she has continued to make strides in the industry, releasing her second track, ‘No Boys Allowed’ in March 2023, followed by ‘Disco Dancer,’ which dropped in May 2023.
She is the second Aussie in two years to represent Cyprus. Andrew Lambrou from Sydney made the finals last in 2024 and finished 12th.
It comes after Australia’s entry, Electric Fields, were eliminated from the competition.
The music duo put on the show of their lives in Malmö, Sweden, on Tuesday as they in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Sadly, it wasn’t enough to win over audiences as they failed to qualify for the grand final which takes place on Saturday.
